Dr. Steve Byers

Graduated from KSU in 1995. Steve is co-owner of Companion Animal Hospital with wife Tamra Truesdell. Together they have eight children. He spends most of his time at the family horse farm in Cheney, Kansas where he manages the equine embryo transfer side of Companion Animal Hospital. Special interests include small animal orthopedic surgery and equine reproductive medicine. In his free time you can find him coaching little league football or baseball, serving on various committees at St. Paul Lutheran Church or attending a KSU football game.

Dr. Tamra Truesdell

Graduated from KSU in 1993. Co-owner and business manager of Companion Animal Hospital with husband Steve Byers. Together they have eight children, ages 2 to 18 years old, 5 boys and 3 girls, including one set of twin girls who are now one year old. They also have a Jack Russell Terrier (Christina) and a Siamese cat (Howie Chin), as well as a farm full of horses (about 30 at last count). They have new additons to their family now Doppler a 8 month old oriental short hair kitten and Dora a 10 month old great dane puppy and 5 new foals. Special interests include small animal internal medicine and dermatology. She is an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Cheney. Hobbies include horses, photography, and chasing after children.

 

Dr. Erin (Pruitt) Menze

Dr. Erin interned with us in 2003 while she was in vet school at OSU. She came to work for us full time in May of 2004. In July 2006 she married Andrew Menze , a chef, and his job moved them to Midland, Texas were she praticed at Herzog Animal Clinic. In May, Dr. Erin and Andrew had an opportunity to return to Wichita and we were excited to have her back with us . She was missed by many of our clients and patients who had come to know and love her. They all have been thrilled shes back. Dr. Erin 's specail interests are smalll animal internal medicines and exotics. When shes not working. she loves fishing with her husband, reading, traveling, hiking, eating her husband cooking creations and playing with their 4 legged children -Nigel (a 6yr. old pug) Hobbes (a 8 yr old domestic shorthair cat) and Ty (a 6 omth old Brittney Spanial puppy). She says she missed everyone and Is thrilled to be back in Kansas.
